- Ubiquitous
- Existing or present everywhere.
- Ultrasonic, Ultrasound
- Sound that has a frequency higher than the highest frequency a human ear
can hear - about 20,000 Hz.
- Understory
- The layer of shrubs, herbs and small trees beneath the forest canopy. The lower level of vegetation in a two-level vegetation
system (see overstory).
- Ungulate
- A hoofed mammal which is usually adapted for running. Includes deer, cattle, gazelles,
horses, elephants, and hyraxes. Most are large herbivores.
The term no longer has taxonomic significance.
